Safety manager at the CEA of CESTA
Scientific rigor in the service of safety
I started working at the age of 21, so I have 25 years of experience. I never imagined that one day I would be working in the field of safety. Today at SERES, in the position of Safety Manager at CEA-CESTA, it is surprising to note that I started as a pharmacology technician specialising in microsurgery, only to later obtain a master's degree in gas networks. Today, this split of backgrounds has enabled me to join SERES on behalf of the CEA. The rigour I acquired in my first job helps me to liaise with the site's subcontractors (80% of whom are from the construction industry) working in a sector where scientific precision is essential, whereas for them, building at the foot of the wall is still a classic!
QHSE Engineer - Seres Technologies
A close-knit team, a guarantee of quality service
The QSE missions at the Marcoule site are based on the theme of diversity. Diversity of installations, INB (Basic Nuclear Installation), II (Individual Installation) and ICPE (Installation Classified for Environmental Protection). This allows us to work on a wide range of nuclear activities with different regulatory references. The variability of activities such as: the implementation of the quality approach, the monitoring of indicators, audits (as auditors and sometimes as audited), regulatory monitoring, makes these missions attractive. The interest of the service lies especially in the diversity of the interlocutors met: Customers, various services of Marcoule, subcontractors, the authority of nuclear safety. The relationship with the customer, as well as the interactions with the other SERES employees are essential to the achievement of the QSE missions. Within SERES, I had the chance to always work in a team. The dynamism, the exchanges, the mutual aid, the relaxed work atmosphere and the support of the team, make the whole richness and the strength of the service.
QHSE Engineer - Seres Technologies
A team effort
Over the last 4 years, I have had the opportunity to carry out about ten security assistance missions. Each mission is different, and it's up to me to adapt my work so that it meets the client's requirements. I also collaborate with the clients and external companies so that the work carried out on my installations goes as smoothly as possible. The assistance mission is a real team effort. Due to the diversity of the missions offered by SERES, each employee can develop his or her skills but above all work as a team with the other SERES employees.
In an industry that is constantly changing, where standards and regulations are constantly evolving and where constant monitoring is required, having up-to-date knowledge is a major challenge in terms of competitiveness and regulatory compliance.
